NEP SHANTUNG is lustrous and luxurious satin that has been a staple of the fabric market for wedding dresses, event planning, shoes, accessories, home decor, costumes, and uniforms. Shantung originated in the Shantung province in China and was originally made of pure silk. We offer the fabric in polyester with the same beatiful texture and quality. The fabric is very crisp, holds any shape and great for structured garments. Unlike like other fabrics, the fabric can be used on both sides as the back consists of a shiny backed satin along with the textured front side. Unlike silk shantung, our polyester Nep Shantung does not have any problems with seam slippage, raveling, and is affordable. It also does not need to be fused and interlined. Other uses for the fabric are crafts such as photo album cover, frame cover or keepsake box.
